Quick question what sort of effects would you get if the rear suspension spheres for a saloon were fitted to a estate 8)

Actually, it's the opposite. (The soft part, that is)
Putting hatchback rear spheres onto an Estate will make the ride harder/harsher than normal. (The pressure is 40% lower and the damper valve holes are smaller)
Also near maximum load weight the suspension will probably have very little suspension travel due to the sphere diaphram almost reaching the top of the sphere.
The thing that allows the estate to carry more load is not the different spheres, but the larger diameter hydraulic rams.
The larger diameter rams however, require spheres with higher gas pressure and larger damper valve holes to get the same ride comfort, hence the difference in the spheres...
