Well they are both air cooled !

Although it's more practical to have a lift up roof.

Also, I wonder why the owner didn't keep it in the "Dub"

family, and put a Beetle on the roof.

I've seen something similar- a Transit with a Capri on the roof. It's only the "greenhouse" of the Capri though, not the whole car.

The Transit is overall still a Ford, but the other vehicle is a CitV, or a VCit.

Pssst.......Don't let this company know about the conversion as they will bodge together several pulleys, and a few V-belts, and various other engineering, and safety related c#*k ups doing another dangerous conversion on a vehicle, and have the V.W being driven from the Citroen.

Here's a picture of one of their right hand drive conversions below, to show you what they do. (Although if they had any common sense, or concern for the safety of their customers then they would, and should stop making these CONversions).

No joke. It's done for rural postmen so that they can reach the letterboxes without getting out of the vehicle. It seems normal for postmen to drive used, sometimes well used, vehicles so the sensible option of just buying an RHD vehicle in the first place isn't available.

Noticeable that they continually mention that these are for RURAL routes... which presumeably means they are not legal for normal road use.

Especially as the steering wheel is obviously offset to the middle of the vehicle.

Nope.

I spoke to some American chums of mine and they are perfectly legal, and in fact considered a better option than a proper LHD because the modification can be removed.

Apparently getting out of the car and walking round can be classed as jaywalking though.

Only in America could walking somewhere be unlawful, but slapping a Heath Robinson affair like that in a car be legal!
