please help
i need to reset valve clearances on a 954cc cit ax,
local car shop not got a haynes book, so i am calling on the wise. whats the inlet and exhaust settings?
and in what order to set them.

hi, never attempted this myself but i do have the haynes manual to hand so:
valve clearances (cold) are same for all petrol ax's:
inlet valves: 0.2 mm
exhaust valves 0.4 mm
order to adjust them (no.1 being the transmission end):
valve fully open | adjust valves
no. 1 exhaust | no.3 inlet and no.4 exh.
no. 3 exh. | no.4 inlet and no.2 exh.
no. 4 exh. | no.2 inlet and no.1 exh.
no. 2 exh. | no.1 inlet and no.3 exh
if youre in the uk chances are you can get the haynes manual out from a library if you dont want to buy one, generally have quite a few...
