No, not a description of it's personality but rather what lurks under it's back seats

I noticed a musty smell in the car t'other day after it had been standing for a week and under the carpet below the back seats were two nice puddles in the depressions either side of the hump. The rest of the car is bone dry.

I very much suspect the sunroof drains are the cause as I can see damp on the "C" pillars when I release the back seat backs and fold them down. A quick look before it started raining agan :x failed to reveal where the drains were and before I start pulling off lots of trim looking for them and/or the ingress point I'd be most grateful for any advice, especially on how to best check the drains and clear them.

Thanks all..
Jim

Unless someone tells us otherwise, I recall clearing the drains from sunroofs in the past by passing a long length of wire down the drain points. Care should be exercised not to force the wire in fear of causing a compacted immovable blockage further down the drain. If you do find the lower end you could try pushing the wire upwards.
Never owned a Cit with a sunroof so treat this idea with caution!

According to the service history on my car the previous owner had the sunroof seals done and drains checked but then went on to have the tailgate seal replaced too. Have you checked under the boot carpet?

I too found 2 great big puddles under my rear seats a few weeks ago - turned out that my boot wasn't closing properly and the rain had gotten in... no more puddles since

I'd definately check your boot seal...

Have you been through a car wash lately? I've noticed that whenever I use a car wash, water finds its way into my car in the most unlikely places... even when I close the windows.

Also, though I doubt this is your problem, I've noticed my aerial is letting water into the roof lining, not enough to make those puddles, but a nice gentle stream when I pull away on wet days - applying specialist sealant for stove glass (it's clear) seems to have solved that problem, with a very very light coating.
