Cit ZX 1.4i diff oil seal...

Post by nxh66 »

Just about to replace the o/s differential oil seal on my zx 1.4i so i popped down to GSF and picked up 2 litres of Total BV and an oil seal. Only problem was that the seal was described as "most citroen models" and was the only one suggested for the whole zx range.
It's GSF part no N31172 if that helps, I know the 1.4i has smaller dia driveshafts than the others, just dont want to pull out the old seal to find the new one dosent do the job!! (at least i'm only a hour walk from GSF  )

"Fits most Citroen models" and should also read "fits most Peugeot models".
You are right that the drive axles are different. But the differential seals have been standardised to fit all BE3 & MA gearboxes.
58x40x11mm left diff seal 3121.44 (UK = drivers side) long axle
47x30x11mm right diff seal 3121.46
(Cit part no's)

The size is printed on the seal for instant identification. Check before you dismantle your car !
