Berlingo door mirror glass removal

How do you remove the the glass from the driver's door mirror?

Haynes says " Tilt the glass downward then reach behind and pull the top of the glass away from the adjuster plate to release the retaining clips"

I can't tilt the glass down enough to get behind the glass.
