Rear Speakers Not Working.

Hi all,
94 Xantia 2.0i SX
Front 2 + front tweeters work OK.
Back 2 not working.
Fade to the rear and the offside is bairly audible and very crackly the nearside one doesnt appear to work at all.
Possiby shorting somewhere.
Bit of a long shot this one but are there any suspect areas I should check as I don't fancy ripping out wires from stereo to speaker.
Could hopefully be that the connectors have come away partially from the rear of the stereo. If that's the case how do I remove the unit?

hello darren if you have abit of sound that is crackling then the first thing to is to look at the cnnections to the speakers themselves and also look at the speakers for any breakes in the cones then check to see which channels are faulty left or right with the aid of the balance control if there is only one channel faulty say the left one for example you can then swap the speakers over if the right channel sounds poor and the left one is ok then you have a faulty speaker or if ther is no change then probably an audio ic with in the unit is at fault
