How do you remove old stickers from the boot of your car (external). I have some particularly old ones. :?:

Thanks, James

I would second with the hair dryer idea. You can get some 'label remover' aerosol spray from TV/electrical wholesalers (if there are any left) try CPC on the net.

Once you managed to remove the sticker, you will end up with some stuborn glue. You can remove it safely using oil (baby, cooking, etc) and it won't harm the paint

To remove sign writing from an old van I just used a kettle of hot water, makes the sticker go soft and peels off easily. Used t-cut to remove any stubborn marks, and this worked a treat. This method also worked for me to remove some go faster stripes from some bx doors a year or 2 ago, and they would have been there some time.

Work WD40 into the glue from the edge of the sticker, and it will slowly dissolve.
Peel off what you can, and keep wetting the glue with WD40 and wipe with tissues.
When all the glue is gone, wash the remaining WD40 off with window spray cleaner.

I did the hair dryer and it worked. I then used vegetable oil and that shifted some glue...what it did do really well though was bring the silver trim at the top of the bumper up a treat!!!

I T-cut the rest off.

Many thanks. :D
