New to forum and stuff

Hello all,
I have been lurking for a while and found the forum nothing but helpful. Changed all 4 glow plugs today without any problem on my '93 405 Hunter TD. However, just as I was finishing off, I snapped one of the pipes off the little black widget which is between the leak-off pipes and the pipe from the filter housing. What is this widget and do I need it?

Its an auto bleed valve and you don't need it, in fact its best got rid of before it lets you down.

Thank chuff for that. Just Peugeot's April Fool joke for those who manage to change all 4 plugs without a problem, then! Luckily managed to find a scrappy still open at 3.30 pm on a sat, then found a late ZX TD and swiped a leak-off pipe and banjo union to replace it all.
