Xantia MOT

Post by rossnunn »

Just done a quick check over before it goes in, could do with front discs & pads no woirres there. I noticed that one of the rear bump stops has torn open, would this be a failure? seems stupid to send it in to fail on something so small.
Also can I get the bump stops from ECP or GSF if so does anyone know the part/item number & rough cost or is it a dealer job? :(

just had a quick tinternet search and came up with :

http://www.motuk.co.uk/manual_240.htm

it appears that a missing bump stop does not constitute a fail, so I'd have thought that a broken one should be ok.

Also had a quick look at the GSF catalogue but couldn't see bump stops listed..

Thing is, I know this sounds stupid, if it's actually there and damaged it's a sure failure, but if it's missing, you'd be OK!! Been here before with hazard indicators and fog lights on old Cit's!!

I've never fully understood the MOT mentality!
