will this have damaged the cat?

Post by _kid_ »

I ran out of petrol (tries to start this morning and jerking) i got about half a mile before it could not start at all.

I put some petrol in, and reset the ecu by taking off the negative battery lead.

Will i have done any damage to the cat or any other components? its running back to normal now.

Agree with Peter.

No harm has been done to ECU or engine. The cat can take quite some punding before it gets inactive. Its the long time usage with rich running - or oil leaking - engine that harms the cat.
