Xantia using to much fuel

My Xantia td 1.9 has started using loads of Diesel, it has started jerking a bit when i accelorate, it smokes a bit, its done 114k. Any Ideas.

Presume injectors,fuel filter,air filter are O.K. Then it looks like air in the fuel system,For a start check all fuel connections,leading from the tank to the fuel pump, and see how that goes
