306 alarm sounder..

Post by Linchpin »

Hey guys.. me again!

Anyone know where the alarm sounder on my xsi is? Its a P-reg, phase 2.

The alarm goes off (all the time!) but the lights flash and a relay clicks (immobiliser comes on)... no sound!

Also i need a new ultrasonic sensor.. as when my drivers side one is conencted the alarm always goes off. Any ideas on this too?

Cheers guys

Ultrasonic sensors are about £20 +vat from the nice man at Peugeot. The alarm siren is behind the bumper on the n/s, and can be 'got at' by removing the wheel arch liner.

Got one for £2 from a GTI-6 at the scrappy... works fine!

Now for that horn sender... On my old 306 there was a key under the bonnet to disable the siren. Anything like this on the more modern (p-reg) 306?

Ok Excellent! It made a feeble sound the other day (alarm went off due to bad battery contact)...

Im guessing i need to strip the liner from the wing and fit a new one. Cheers guys!
