Peugeot 406 1.9dt r reg advance corrector relay

Post by rich201283 »

My car is running warm and is very slugish, it runs rough and the management light is on,

If i start the car and pull the brown connector off the pump there is no change in engine note, If i pull the tdc sensor off there is also no change, If i pull the injector lift sensor off the engine note changes and wants to stall
The rev counter works with either of these unplugged.

It appears the the advance on the pump is fully advanced all the time and not adjusting,

I looked at a wiring diagram and there is a ADVANCE CORRECTOR RELAY
Upon inspection the case was cracked, COULD THIS BE CAUSEING THE PROBLEM? What does this relay do ?

If its a Bosch pump I don't think your Haynes manual will cover the ecu controlled pump control. the advance corrector is applicable to pre ecu pumps.

I agree with you though. Your pump is certainly running at full advance.
