Xantia Starting problem

My Xantia is a 2.0i 16v. Lately it is taking longer to start. The starter motor is turning the engine OK but the engine is not firing as quick as it used to. When it does eventually start, it does not burst into life, but it struggles for a second or so then runs normally.
Any ideas as to why this is happening?

Its spring time coming up - just around the corner 8)

I bet your Xantia is in need of lots of TLC - the lot : air filter, spark plugs, fuel filter, oil fiter, engine oil, cleaning of spark plug leads etc. etc.
