Renault Espace

Hi,I have a 94 Renault Espace and sometimes when I turn full lock,I get this awful "screeching sound".I have asked around and it would seem this is not unusual.What causes this??

i find this on many cars with power steering. Im assuming its from the power steering pump which is trying to push the wheels round further but cant cause of it being at full lock. your squeal could be from a belt slipping (if your PAS pump is belt driven) as your pump becomes harder to turn?

anyone else?
