Xsara Heater

Post by fatbugger »

Hello all

Hope you can help.

Wifes Xsara has developed a fault with heater blower.
Will only work on highest position on switch. This is the
same on both recirculated and normal i.e switch turns
clockwise for normal airflow anticlockwise for recirculated flow.

Is there any resistor? could switch be faulty? motor faulty?
any ideas please?

Resistor located in air duct behind glove box. Unplug and pry out from duct. Think you have to remove the glove box but not to sure. It's to the right of the blower motor looking forward to the front of the car.

For MK1 Xsara.

As for the motor, must be the easiest part to remove. passenger foot well look up remove 3 screws and motor is out. Sounds like the resistor to me.
The wifes got a C4 I've got a ZX TD SX!!!!

If it looks like this, with a bit of luck the fuse went.
It's meant to be a 170ºC thermal fuse.
