Vulcan's blood in the cab.....

Post by Mabbs »

Drivers footwell is full of LHM, appears to be leaking beneath the mat, has anyone encountered this before? If so what was the problem?

Regards

Brake valve - if you reach up behind the brake pedal you should find it's wet right up to there.

I think there was a post on here a while back by Citronut that said you can just fit a new rubber seal on the end of it.

Yeap, made a bloody mess it has! Leaking down the brake pedal, hopefully I can find this thread re just replacing part of the rubber rather than the whole brake valve. I did happen to pump the brakes to their full enxtent at the lights the other day, may be this is what finished it off!

Thanks

Yes, the excentric flying carpet :D has a doser valve instead of a brake master cylinder, and here is the story:

yes you can just replace the rubber cap,its best to buy the retaining ring at the same time, you dont always need it but if you distort it when prizing it out its best to have one at hand, some cit/dealers say this is not avalible for a xantia but iots exactly the same part on all CX,GS/A,BX and xantias
