The spheres are about £20.00 each from GSF, allowing for their profit and time I would think £50 - 60. certainly no more than £100.

I bought a Ford Escort from that area once that came with a load of receipts for work done. Every single thing I had a receipt for gave trouble and had to be done again.

The guy must have had a nose for the worst garages in the area, if I still had the car I could tell you which ones to avoid. I can't remember if Motech was one of them though.

Funny you should say that.

My wife had an Escort and everything which broke on it broke three or four times, usually just as the warranty on the last replacement ran out.

I didn't mean to suggest that Forfar was particularly bad for dodgy garages, just that the previous owner of my Escort had a talent for finding the bad ones. Homer makes a good point though, that's why it was my last Ford
