Xantia TD sump with AC pump mountings required

Unread post by andmcit »

Does anyone have a Xantia TD engine sump with the AC pump mountings available? I've done a sump swap on a XU 2.0i petrol engine out of an Xm and the same job was necessary then; I had a good engine with a tin basic sump that needed swapping for an aluminium one that had the big cast lugs that hold the compressor for the AC.

My question really is; does anyone know if the sump is the same on the petrol XU as that on the diesel XUD, after all, it's basically the same lump at the end of the day!!

Seriously, does anyone have any suggestions/help or even an AC sump they want to see being used!!

Hi Andrew

I've a spare alloy sump with A/C lugs from a 405 XUD TD engine. It's in good condition.
As far as I know it's the same as a petrol sump. I've fitted a 16v BX alloy sump to a BXTD engine and that went OK.

Great thanks Bernie, that's very useful to know. What I know nothing about though is Bx engines and their similarity with Xantia ones!!

If it's the right one I'll take you up on the offer. Would it be Ok your posting it to Swansea though!! How many beer tokens would be sufficient!?

All the best,

Sump

Unread post by KennyW »

Hi Bernie,

If I knew it was that easy to get a sump for Xantia TD 1.9 Mk2, it would'nt have taken me a least a month to source one up here.

I even suggested to a scrappie that the 406's td's would be the same but they disagreed!
