When I turn off my ignition the radio loses its memory and so does the clock. Can any of you guys tell me what is happening and how to fix it please

In addition to the normal ingnition switched supply to the radio, there is another permantly live feed, which supplys the memory, and also the clock apparantly, this it seems is missing. If you have a manual you should be able to find it on the circuit diagram, it is probably a fused supply, so either the fuse has gone or you have a bad connection somewhere. Someone else might be able to tell you where.
Has it always done this or just started??
If its an aftermarket radio and its always been the case then the secondary permanant 12v supply PeterN mentions may never have been connected up.
If its just started to do it, have a look at the connections on the back of the radio (or its housing) and check with a meter or a test bulb that there are two 12v supplies, one switched by the ignition and one permanant- the permanant one may have come loose, or it may have its own seperate line fuse tucked away behind the radio, which may also have been wired into the clock circuit.
Somerone may have been fiddling before you got the car.......
