HI, probably a common fault, wonder if anyone can help. my 98 s megane 1.6 sport had a problem, the speedo was acting as a rev counter, whilst stationery the speedo would rev up and down with the rev counter, found earth wire snapped off, repaired it fault gone, however, before this problem the mileometer ( mileage display ) was clear/bright, this disapeered when the fault occured, although the fault is now rectified the reading is there but very faint, co incidence or as a result of original fault, help appreciated.

Could be the that the poor earth has blown the bulb as it was arching across. Try fitting a new bulb. Or have you checked that you aint knocked the dimmer switch down?
