Help Needed - Xantia Lights

Post by walcit »

Ive just installed a new heater matrix on a 1.9d lx, started it and everything was fine. I noticed though that the lights (side lights and head lights) wasnt working. Full beam was. When I switched off and closed the door, the lights (headlights were flashing. They flashed for about 10 - 15 secs. I did take two relays out when I dismantled the dash (green and white ones), but I have put them back. Please could anyone help? Is this an alarm issue? :?

Thanks

Alarm issue ? - no.
Alarming - yes :)

There is no doubt : the problem is to be found within the 2 relays you removed - or the related cabling in their sockets. You are absolute dead sure - scouts honour - swear to god - that :
1) the 2 relays are the same type ?
2) if NOT same type - you did not swap the relays ?
3) relays are properly inserted - no bent pins - no pins outside receiver clamps
4) sockets generally in good condition cabling/crimping looking sound ?
5) related cabling harness NOT disturbed by your work ?

You are on track - on a steep learning curve : first off you suspected something to do with your own last fiddling 8)
Believe me brother in arms - that's more often than not the problem :D
