405 heater matrix renewal

Post by twocobs »

has anybody any idea how involved the job of renewing a heater matrix is on a 405 (pre facelift model) without air con. Trying to plan ahead so I allow sufficient time to complete job as stress free as possible. Also, is there anything that usually breaks, seizes that I will additionally need to replace. Thanks

As far as I know, it's possible to do a pre-facelift model without removing the dash. There's various bits of glovebox you have to remove. You should get new O-rings with the replacement matrix. The only things you will have to damage are various rivets that hold the dash together. You'll need a rivet gun and some "peel" rivets. Or some self-tapping screws.
