Speedo problem - 1999 Xantia 16v 1800

Post by jgra1 »

Hi all.

I recently did a clutch change on my Xantia, the speedo has not worked since.. I have removed the 3 pin plug from gearbox and re plugged it in, in case a loose contact.. no differance.

any ideas?
there isn't a seperate fuse for it is there? was working fine before the gearbox removal..

thanks

You are on track !

Its very smart going back trying to remember what you removed/bodged during your own work - as for sure the problem originates there.

Try squeeze a wee bit the spade connectors in that plug to ensure a good contact. Also the use of a contact cleaner spray may do the trick.

thanks all..

If it wasn't the connectors tho.. could it be a fuse.. I will check them anyway.. Cant believe its the speedo head.

I have done 1500 miles this week!! so quite glad it doesnt work ;) just have to go slow for the cameras..!
