Rear electric windows / sunroof / electric mirrors dead.

My electric rear windows, sunroof and electric mirrors are not working on my 96 Xantia activa. The heaters originally were playing up to, not starting when i turned on the ignition, and having to restart the car to get them to work. This has now been fixed by putting a new ignition in today, but still not rear electric windows, sunroof, mirrors. The fuses are OK.

Would check with test lamp to see if there's 12 Volts arriving at fuse F30, 15Amp blue, in fuse box under dash.
That's with ignition switch set to 'accessories' or 'go'.

OK update. I'm really confussed now.

The rear electric windows are not working after plugging and and plugging out random relays.

Now for the weird bit!The electric heated mirrors and runroof still not working, BUT if i press the rear windscreen demister/heater button they all work. So i though, o must be that big orange relay under the steering column thats (-expletive removed-), so i change it, and new one does exactly the same.

Any ideas?

Was the problem there before the ignition switch was replaced, or is it there since ?
Did you replace it, or was it 'done' while you had your back turned ?
The ignition switch is known to cause heater fan and rear demister troubles.
Hasn't it been wired in a manner that causes the low resistance rear demister to operate as a switch for the rear windows, roof and mirrors ?

Some strange electrical faults are caused by water in the wiring loom that passes along the bottom of the radiator.

The problem was there before i changed the ignition.

Its funny you should mention the wires that run along the radiator, as its an Activa, and it leans round corners(the hydractive switch is not working either). Citroen told me water had got in and corroded the cables, i suspected that area but i'm no good with electrics so i have just left it, and i thought an Autoelectrictian would not stand a chance with an Activa.

Maybe it is that..............

Since you've replaced the ignition switch, it's not rotten wires that will stop you.

Some, or maybe only one of the wires will need a short length repaired or replaced.
There's a quick check to see if Citroën is telling the truth.
If the shroud along the bottom of the radiator has the openings at the top, then the water can get in, and stay there.
If the openings are at the bottom, as they should, then it's not that.
