Xantia Rear wash wipe

I have not been able to get the rear wash wipe to wash since I got the car and being a nice day today thought I'd investigate. The tube comes through the wiper arm onto a sort of plastic stick that is stuck on to the wiper. I disconnected the rubber tube from the stick and that works okay. I removed the plastic stick to clean it, thinking it would have jets along it like the pugs used to have but all it has is a hole for the rubber tube and a pin hole at the other end. I stuck a needle into each end but nothing happens. What the hell is this all about?????????
