A friend has an XM on which the immobiliser has been in "service mode" since he bought the car. (This is the type where service mode doesn't require you to enter a number at all)
He's worried that should anything happen to cancel service-mode, he may end-up stuck.
-Is there any way out of this situation, short of buying a spare control-box as a precaution?
