XM 2.0i auto gearbox selector cable urgently required

Post by andmcit »

Hi - does anyone have one that isn't seized? Just to confirm - it's the actual cable that is operated from the gear lever to the selector lever on the gearbox!!

Anyone!?

Surely there's a dead Xm auto [that only drives backwards] somewhere that can donate a selector cable to save another good 'un!?

Anyone!?

2444 J9 - CONTROL CABLE - approx £120

At that cost I'd try a repair of the cable Andrew. Whats the problem ?

TOTALLY KNACKERED - there definately isn't a way it'll ever work again - yes really, it's in 3 separate frayed pieces...

The car 'can' be driven, but only if I sit on the engine and lean in to change gears whilst it's moving... home made rollercoaster ride... you should try it!! [NOT...]

The car NEEDS to be MOVED [by scrap lorry crane if necessary!!] as it's been decided by the guy's missus - SWMBO is tired of looking at it...

I don't even think Citroen would get hold of one , let alone in time to rescue the car.
