How often do you have to change the cambelt on a ZX 1.8i? I have heard different opinions about that...
And how much does it cost approx.?

I believe that 50Kmiles (80.000km or 8000mil) is the most "correct" interval.
You may see figures like 62Kmiles (10.000mil) - even 75Kmiles (12.000mil) quoted around. If you have a Haynes they will most often quote a conservative figure of 38Kmiles (6000mil) to be on the safe side.
Note that every 3.rd belt change you also replace idler/tensioner rollers and waterpump regardless - as these components then have reached terminal life expectancy.
If you want to be really safe on your engine - then have the cambelt tension checked initially after replacement (500miles) and at halflife interval (25Kmiles). I once had a loose cambelt on my CX
