Door Sensor

Post by mezuk04 »

Just spoken to my Brother In Law who has the 93' Zx Aura 1.9TD, on the car it has the door instrument panel which shows the warning light for each respective door if its not shut properly, and they all work...until now that is.....apparently my sister slammed the door and now the front passenger door warning light stays on constant...i know its not a problem as such but just wondering where the sensor and appropriate wires are located just to have a fiddle really.

Regards
Chris

"Door open warning" panel has earth switches built into the door lock mechanisms. A small nightmare to disassemble :?

I would however place my bid on a chafed (& earthed) cable in the associated door to pillar loom. Usually this indication system fails the opposite way : wont indicate open doors. Because of the switch refusing to make contact after years of service.
Same principle as interior lights and pillar switches.

Not skilled with door locks so will have a look at the pillar loom for starters, if he wants it done he shall have to attempt it himself :P
