106 Plip replacement.

Hey guys, my flatmate has an N reg 106, which his PLIP has fallen to bits. We are looking at one on ebay, are they easily reprogrammed (like the 306 ones?) His plip looks like this :

When you say programmed you mean to start the car? they are Easily programmed to open close the central locking but to start the car it has to be put on a computer at a peugeot dealer.

An N reg 106 isnt gonna have much in the way of an immobiliser.

It may have a simple one linked to the remote central locking ( Wheres my paper clip ) or it might even have an early keypad.

No transponder key on this 106.

Exactly, this car has no immobiliser or nothing.

My mate just wants it to open his car

Any ideas?

this type of plip is not programmed by a dealer.inside is a yellow label with a code no on,when you order a new plip you order it by this no.this will then match the same no on reciver in roof.your ebay one will be ok as long as they are suppling reciver with it.if not dont bother it will not work they have to match.

So..... like unlike the 306 one you cannot program the car's reciever for the new key???

the 306 type comes from parts blank and can be coded to car,your type comes from parts alreadt coded.no specified on ordering.

What about buying the plip and its matched receiver to be sure. A series 2 405 should be able to donate one. As far as I the key is'nt reprogammable.
