zx td '94 heater

Post by 8304 »

Hi

Does anybody else on the forum find that their heater seems to get hotter when they go around a right hand corner? - (that sounds odd doesnt it!)

im sure its bled properly - ive opened the bleeded or the supply pipes a number of times and water comes out straight away.

The heater is always hot but it just seems to be hotter or have more flow on right handers. I cant decide if its hotter or if its just the pattern of air flow inside the car on corners hitting me more if you know what i mean..

any1 else found anything similar to the above??

Same finding, but on Xantia.
It looks like it's caused by the displacement of air inside the car.
Very strange, because the air is enclosed, and should move with the car.

Hi 8304. Mine's a diesel, but I don't think what you describe can actually happen? The engine waterflow should not be effected whilst cornering, and neither should the fan speed? The directional airflow flaps may be loose somehow but I have never seen them so don't actually know, but being cable operated I can't imagine they have much room to move either.. You sure you didn't have a door or window open? .. lol.. :D

As clogzz says, its probably just the movement of air in the car. Air does have some weight so is subject to the effects of gravity and centrifugal force. Hi clogzz!

And Hello Peter ! :D

Thank you for your latest message, and I'm slowly-slowly putting an answer together.

As for the temperature variations when cornering, it looks like the air-conditioned cars may be very prone to that.
Possibly because the cabin temperature sensor has a small fan that draws air onto it, it seems to react fairly fast.

Regards,
Terry.
