Look at this! Isn't it just the most beautiful car you have ever seen?!

Look at the rear leg room! Is a Prestige Turbo 2 the ulitmate CX?

Strange that the bidding is in US Dollars though - guess the seller is American.

Car p**n indeed.

A RHD series 2 prestige turbo manual. As the e-bay advert says only 5 or so factory cars ever made.

I dont know what its actually like but it looks nice, if it was up at Roger Bradfords CX centre then it would be about 15,000 or more i rekon.

It looks very good. The bidding is rising quite quickly. It'll be interesting to see that it makes. News of it seems to have spread fairly quickly through various forums and mailing lists so there'll be plenty of people watching it.

There's been 48 bids but 45 have come from one bidder.
If anyone has never seen a Prestige, they are best described as "an absolute weapon" with rear leg room so great that I have a 6'4" son who can sit in the rear seat, stretch his legs and still not hit the rear of the front seats.
Over here they were all autos; not autos as we now know them, 4 speed, but autos as a lot of people consider them; (3 speed many revs for little result) but even in drone and moan configuration, the ride is unbelieveable and once rolling, performance well and truly acceptable. I remember following one through a windy mountain road almsot expecting sparks of the door handles as it lay into the corners like a motorbike, but as a 5 speed manual in a Turbo 2 WOOOOOHOOOOOO!!! best of both Worlds; a ride that would put a Roller to shame coupled to performance to match or better most sports cars and hot hatches.
A real ballsy car for the old man with the luxury to get Mum all excited.

I have seen it go right out of range. Little chance of my buying it. Although the ultimate toy, I'd end up in the soprano section.

Ever seen e-Bay Australia?

We get UK pounds, US Dollars, Aussie Dollars and one day it was even shown in a currency I'd never heard of by some dodgy 'eBay store'
It's so common out here that the site automatically does a conversion into AussieDollars (or Pacific Pesos as they sometimes affectionately called)
The only reason I can see is some kind of tax haven thing or an attempt to confuse potential buyers. I can understand US $s being a con over here as approx US$75 = A$100 but UK pounds is the opposite way around with US$75 only making about 43 UK pounds......strange alright.

the price appears to be in $ rather than in £ as the seller has listed it on the american www.ebay.com site rather than www.ebay.co.uk
This is not a signature.

There is more to it than that because his other items are listed in £

I think it's deliberate, but not sure why.

The auction has been restarted now due to an incorrect reserve setting! Seems odd for such an experienced user to be making all these errors....

Maybe the explanation should read:

"Seller has restarted Auction because he never thought he'd get nearly 4000 hits
or have so many bids from so few bidders nor did he expect the price to get so high;
Let's see how we go this time guys. Ready - set - GO!!!"
