Xantia Towbar

Post by Peter Mannn »

Out here in Australia, towbars for the Xantia are somewhat rare.
I have had a local tradesman offer to make one.
Does anyone have drawings or photographs that might make this task easier ?
Are the mount points similar to those on the BX ?
Or, even better, do any Aussies have an unemployed towbar ?
No idea what the shipping costs from UK would be, but suspect prohibitive.

Hi Peter,

My Xantia has a towbar .... He's welcome to put it up on a hoist and take some measurements if this helps. If you get some made for a reasonable cost I'm sure you will find others out here that are interested in purchasing one too...

Hi Peter,

I will not be around till after 5:30 tonight ... (I guess you might have worked that out already if you turned up at my place    ).

My car has that bloody stupid french designed towbar on it that will not allow you to use level rider bars. However they should be able to make up the identical towbar, but use a proper tongue on it.

In the UK, towbars for recent cars have to be type-approved.
Aus is probably more sensible - but just in case you want to check :?
