kangoo 1.9d 2001;flickering glowplug light;help please

car was running when glowplug light started flickering;no adverse effect on performance;however when stopped car, would not restart at all;glowplug light comes on as normal then starts faintly flickering,will not fire up;garage who brought us home said likely to be fly by wire controls,of which there are 3 ecu type things;will have a look see if i can clean anything up,might get lucky!any help appreciated thanks neil

towed to local garage,and the thing fired up when we got there,still with the glow plug light flickering;left it there,he checked earths,new temp sensor put on,of course it fired up for him straight away;he had put it on diagnostics and been given 2 fault codes,which he said were wrong;so the good news is that no major repair was needed (£40bill)but the bad news is that because of bad connection/earth somewhere,family holiday was ruined;shame really because the engine is much better the 1.9d in our berlingo,although the seats are much better inthe berlingo.
