Unread post by meonk »

hi, im new to citroen but i think thats about to change. i got a p reg xantia 1.9 sd a few months back, its in great condition but the other day the engine went bang..... so i got a n reg 1.9 td for £250 but it is abit tatty and smells of wet dogs inside. so the question is can i put the td in my nice clean sd. if so is it easyish or not so..

thanks

p.s. does either of my cars have an ecu or some divice tocontroll fuel air ratio...

Probably as easy as it is to change any Xantia engine! Apart from the intercooler its pretty well the same. You can take the one from the other car with all the necessary fittings an pipework and I think it should go straight in. I sure if it doesn't somone on here will tell you.

I don't know but there may be transmission differences which will be avoided if you use the TD gearbox and driveshafts. Other bits to look at are clutch cable/clutch fittings.

There are a number of different gearbox ratios - snd I dont know if SD and TD used the same.
