First, don't do anything in a hurry. As you've probably found out by now, entering the wrong number more than a couple of times will lock up your security system for a certain period - doing it again will make it longer and longer.
I remember that when I bought my new Xantia (first of August 1995, first day of the new registration letter, etc), my local Citroen dealer had received a couple of Xantias with the wrong start codes. Not even the dealer was able to get them started in time for the eager new first-day customers to drive them away. Very embarrassing!
Take a long cigarette break, take a walk, and try to de-stress. Apart from hypnosis, it's your best chance of remembering the number.
