Xantia Alarm

Post by batbay »

Help please. I have disconnected the battery on my '94 Xantia TD SX and wish to reconnect it. I did nothing to the alarm before disconnection - whats going to happen when I reconnect, and what action should I take?
Thanks.

batbay,
as soon as you reconnect the battery the alarm WILL BE SET, so dont open/close & dont close the bonnet (theres a switch on the catch).
de-activate the alarm using the remote plip in the normal way.

IF you don't have the keypad immobiliser, it will probably simply set the alarm going.
If this is the case, put the keys in the ignition, turn the ignition on, and then press and hold the alarm button on the dash to the right of the steering wheel.
( same procedure if you're plip's batteries run out ).
This should sort it.
If you do have the keypad - someone else will post the procedure, I'm sure !
Mat.

Thanks for that. Battery reconnected, and no upset neighbours!
When I put the terminal back on the indicators flashed once. Then I operated the plip a couple of times to check , and no problems.
