it hasn't found any of my cars, even the current ones!!!! Presumeably it links to dvla like the RAC data site does.

Yes, just like Friends Reunited you have to add yourself to their database..... Wouldn't call it useless, but the more people who add their old cars, previously owned, current etc will build the database and who knows what you'll be able to find out, e.g. it was a write off..... and you're about to buy it.
