How to test glow plugs ? what size fuel line?

Two questions really
1st one and the easiest i hope. What size fuel line does a 405 1.9td have? 8mm or 10mm?

2) Ive looked but cant find it. What is the test to find out which glow plugs have gone using a multi meter without taking any of the glow plug out of the car cos its too cold to fiddle about?

edit: what size are the coolant hoses too new there was something else i need to know

Quick plug test I would disconnect the wire from plug to plug.

Then

A) Multimeter resistance from top of plug (just removed screw from) and other lead on earth.

OR B) Take a +ve wire from battery and touch on same terminal of each plug in turn. Will spark lightly as wire is touched if plug is OK.

Replace any you can't get spark from.

I find with one plug gone it's a bit difficult to start, but with 2 it's very difficult - and usually you see a bit of pale smoke as engine starts.

Tube size? sorry don't know - once had to replace feed on 205D and it was size inbetween 2 at carspares shop.

Coolant hoze probably varies depending which area.

Just to add that when you test the glowplug with a meter the resistance should be <1Ohm. Dead ones will be open-circuit=very high resistance. Note that you need to disconnect the connecting cable otherwise you can't test just one glowplug - you are testing them all at once (which will always appear fine unless all four have died).
