Removing XM Rear ABS Sensors

Post by DHallworth »

I am trying to get the Rear ABS Sensors off the Series 1Saloon,

I have unbolted them, and got the sensors out of the arms. My only trouble now is finding where the sensors connect to the loom under the car.

As mine is off the road and cannot be raised, i am having difficuly finding them.

Any help is appreciated.

Regards
David.

You might find them under the back seat, David, thats where the BX ones are.

it was the same with the sensors on the CX too, but unfortunately on the xm, they are under the car, gonna have to try and get under the car i think.

As it is being broken for spares anyway and is in very poor condition, i think am gonna tie and sling round it to the tow bar and lift the back end with the jcb so that i can kneel or stand under it,

Thanks
David.

Whatever you do, Do NOT rely on hydraulics (be they Citroen or JCB ones) to keep the car from crushing you.

I used to know someone who did this habitually, and lots of people warned him about how dangerous it was. We stopped warning him when he was killed.

if you've actually managed to get the sensors out of the arms, you've done the wosrt part already - thats usually a real s*d. The cables are probably shot as well - they usually go on the the rear of the XM so I wouldn't bother trying to retain them.
