Berlingo rear wiper removal

Post by tony1 »

I'm trying to remove the rear wiper motor from the tailgate. But, I can not make out how to remove the motor from the tailgate body. The problem is that I was expecting it to be bolted to the body, but it is fixed with some strange hollow bolts with no heads, the only thing they have is 3 slots down the centre (120 degrees apart) looks like it might take a tri-wing bit.
Is this the correct method to remove them?

they are pop-rivets,they need to be drilled out & new ones fitted when you refit the motor.

I never realised you could get such large pop rivets 7.5mm.
The local garage did not even have a pop rivet gun for this size of rivet, so I assume they are not widely used yet. They had to borrow one from the lawn mower service shop next door!
