Xantia Hdi 110 whistling noise.

Post by laitant »

HI all, I just recently had the back exhaust box changed as the original broke off. Now I have noticed a high pitch whistling sound starting at about 2700 revs and onwards. It is more noticeable when I let off the accelerator to change gear or even just free revving while stationary. I can hear the turbo running but have not really noticed any lack of performance. If anyone has any ideas they would be appreciated.

Best regards Andy.

My 406 HDi does it when going through the gears under acceleration,or if I give the throttle a quick blip, and to be honest,it still pulls with no lack of performance.

Unless there's a nut not tightened on the new box, around the clamp,or a lack of exhaust sealant, and it's leaking,in which case a quick nip up might be in order, then I don't think I'd worry personally.
