Hi All,
Can someone tell me if the rim size (in particular the WIDTH of the rims from bead to bead) is the same on Xantia's that originally came with 185/65/R15 tyres (like mine) and ones that came with 205/55/R15 ? (Like the 2 litre turbo and activa)
I'm getting new tyres shortly and 185/65 just doesn't cut it for me, (especially when its HA2, the suspension has better cornering ability than the tyres ) but I wanted to be sure that models that came standard with 205/55/R15 didn't have special wider rims to accomodate them...
My rims are the 5 hole alloys. Also are there any differences in the wheel arche clearance on models that come standard with 205/55/R15 ?
Regards,
Simon

The difference in tyre width is only 20mm for the 2 sizes in question. That's just 10mm each side.
Rim width comes in steps of ½ inches and would most likely cover 3-4 standard tyre widths no problem.
Chris really squares it out for you herte :

Hi Alec.About 99% the same radius.Acording to my GPS Roadangel, when that says i`m doing 70mph,my speedo is just over 70mph,the same at any speed really. Not all speedos read 100% true anyway. There is/was a tyre website listed in the Links forum i think, where you put in your standard tyre size & your uprated tyre size & it tells you what % differerence they are.Tyre Size Calculator was the topic i think.
