whats the difference

just a quicky as im looking to buy one

if the peugeot 306 gti6 and xsi share the same 2.0l 16v engines why is one 167 bhp and the other 135bhp

this applies for the phase two models!

the xsara vts also has 167 bhp and a 5 speed box

so where is the power increase located??

ecu?? exhaust ?? cat?? air flow?? cam shafts??

does any one know for sure or have access to a web site that could assist me

Doesn't the gti-6 have a 6 speed box, so they could have re-mapped the ecu to take account of this, increasing horsepower as a result.

Hi

The XSI & GTI6 DONT share the same engine

The XSI uses the XU10J4R engine

The GTI6 uses the XU10J4RS engine

The XU10J4RS has a different intake manifold system, cams & ECU over the standard XU10J4R engine
