zx - bar in footwell

Does anybody else find the bar above the pedals in the ZX extremely annoying? I only have size 8 feet and i always catch my shoes on it. Is it particually important - has anybody here removed it?

I wear size 12s and I can't say I've noticed it to be honest....

I find the space around the pedals in the ZX better than in many newer, bigger cars.

there's a bar above the pedals?
The thing that annoys me about the pedals is that the gas pedal is below the line of the brake and they're too close together, french people must have small feet.
