Xantia Heated rear window not working

Hi Guys, first posting on the NEW forum.........
My HRW wasnt working on my Xantia and after chacking the relay I decided to check power to the window itself. Power was there.

So I checked the earth wire, nothing, no circuit. So something said to me, remove the panel from off the tailgate. I did this and found the earth wire had burnt out, litleraly into two. It had been chaffing on one ot the metal clips that hold the wiring onto the tailgate and over heated . I big brown/black burn mark was on the paintwork.
I cut the bad wire out and joined together with a 30 amp screw block.

That's the only thing that hasn't failed on my boot so far. The lock doesn't always lock (I know problem dodgy solenoid just needs replacing), Wiper sometimes stops (open then close boot solves this), light doesn't come on (wiggle boot lid until it does), alarm sensor keeps triggering (cable tied it down to stop play where it clips on). Otherwise all working fine. Don't think I will putt it up for sale on this forum when the time comes.
