406 radio problem

Hi All,
I have a 2002 Peugeot 406 The problem i have is that the cd player is very temperamental sometimes it will play a disc sometimes it takes a long time before it will play the disc Does anybody know why
I know this is a peugeot thread but thought someone might know on this board

Cheapo fix first-the lens is probably just dirty, just get a CD player cleaning kit and use that,or, if you can see the lens, a cotton bud and alcohol, if you haven't already done so.
