Hi, my wifes 1992 espace has a problem in the heater control system. The problem was there when we brought the car a few months ago so not sure how long it has had the fault.
The fault is in the air selection control it works fine when left in the normal poistion which gives air to all parts of the car but as soon as you turn this control to direct it to the screen or feet it starts to click. We can hear a motor nosie and the flaps seam to try to move but are unable to.
The Haynes manuel doesn't cover this part of the system and befor I go taking things apart does have anyone have any ideas or even details on how to start to get to the flaps to check if they are jamed.
I would be greatful for any ideas or if you have had this trouble your self and how you fixed it. Thanks.[?]

This really sounds like the good old Citroen CX syndrome
This car had the ventilation flaps driven by small motors, and one of these had a habit of getting into "chugg" mode where the teeth on the plastic gears kept slipping. A most frustrating noise during drive ...
I managed to solve this problem in my CX by re-arranging the motor fixing screws a bit - just so the plastic gears engaged a wee bit closer. What a silence
The motors were of the low-torque type. Once the flaps were in one of their selected positions the motor simply stalled
